Anybody out there?

Well, I hope there aren't too many folks who have been holding their breath for another puzzle cache. It seems the ones we launched last have proven too difficult, or folks are more interested in a nice hike in the woods. No problem, Geocaching should be one, if needed, excuses for getting out there. Now that our weather has turned wonderful, lace 'em up and don't forget to GPS mark your parking spot.

I have been thinking long and hard about placing the solution to the unsolved puzzles out there and archiving the caches. If there are folks who come by here and have an opinion, share it with the class and you may see some Lat and Long digits here soon.

Well - I, for one, would like to see these puzzle caches stay active. There are many people out there who have spent many many sleepless nights working on them, and I think it would be a disservice to jerk the rug so to speak.

Are the caches difficult? Heck yes they are -- that is why there are five stars on the listing! Will they be cracked? I'd like to think so. I'm personally working on several of them, in an effort to have a few ready for attack when I make my trip to Alabama.

I too would hate to see those caches done away with. I have pondered many hours on them and have actually cracked one or two and am close to finallizing 2 others but haven't had the time i need to sit down with them. There are some cachers who like having the challenge there. Hopefully,if anything folks will show enough interest to keep these caches available .
How about adding a directional hint or something and just reducing the difficulty level? Maybe that will give folks some motivation. It would be unheard of for a cache to go unsolved and unfound for so long in most regions

I don't want to see them go away either, but maybe a slight hint to kinda get people started in the right direction would be nice. On Frodo's Arc for instance, there are probably a million ideas I've had, but I feel like I'm just guessing. I did actually solve one with the help of some friends, and I think me and another friend are close on another, but I either can't figure out how to get started, or get stuck and have no idea what's next. Also, if there was a way to confirm partial coordinates, that would be most helpful also.

I have pondered over your puzzle caches for over a year now with no clue as to how to solve. Since these puzzles are now at the top of my closest to home cache page, it would be nice to get them OFF! :) A clue as to how to solve or maybe a hint in the right direction, would be nice.

Folks, I appreciate the comments and the time wasted/ spent attempting to solve theses puzzles. After careful consideration I can tell you we will continue the tradition of no hints or partial coord confirmations until a FTF is logged. Too many people have asked me to hang on to our original rules. Relaxing the rules would reduce the prize. I hope folks will still try to solve, and I hope everyone understands our comment. All the best in 2009.
